SCOTTISH FOREST & TIMBER TECHNOLOGIES

Regional Groups

A network of four regional groups covering Scotland link the work, and interests, of the Industry Leadership Group more directly with issues relevant to businesses at a local level.

Each regional group has a steering group comprising of prominent industry representatives who are tasked with:

  • Identifying emerging and topical issues that offer a threat or opportunity to businesses at a regional level. Alert Industry Leadership Group when of national importance.
  • Organising and delivering knowledge dissemination/discussion events on current threats and opportunities that may lead to further growth at a regional level. These events will also offer excellent networking opportunities for all involved.
  • When appropriate, engage with development agencies and other ILG partners to promote and disseminate support opportunities for local businesses.

The activities of the Groups are supported and facilitated by Scottish Forestry and Confor. Events tend to be free of charge and are open to any individual or business with an interest in the forest or timber industries.

Regional meetings are organised and facilitated by a partnership of SFTT Industry Leadership Group, Scottish Forestry and Confor and are open to all involved in Scotland’s wood supply chain.

These informative meetings present an opportunity for participants to discuss and become better informed on current issues and R&D outputs and are an excellent networking opportunity for all. They have continued during lockdown delivered digitally, but it is hoped to have a mix of face to face and digital events in the near future. Presentations from previous meetings can be downloaded from the relevant regional pages.
