The Skills group has been created to identify and address short to long term strategic issues with the aim to achieve the ILG objective of having a skilled workforce for the future. The group consists of representatives from industry, Skills Development Scotland, Scottish Forestry and Lantra amongst others. The Group has recently reviewed and agreed the third iteration of the Industry Skills Action Plan. The group meets regularly and the current chair of the group is Andy Leitch.

When required, subgroups are created to address specific issues such as Forest Machine Operator Apprenticeships.
